My Background:

Growing up in a Vancouver Island farming community, I understand the value of hard work, of neighbours helping neighbours, and the importance of preserving our unique rural character.
My education ensures that this work ethic is approached using fact-based decision making with the overall district's best interests at hand.
I am fuelled by a commitment to secure a stable and safe future for every family in our district.
I have studied at UVic, UBC and Harvard and gained transferrable leadership and priority management skills from these institutions. I have spent 25 years in the cancer research arena securing local and federal grants. I have held numerous leadership and volunteer roles in medical and cancer-related areas.
This, and my experience as a Councillor and my achievements over the past term as Mayor have served Metchosin well.
